How do I best wash and care for my Sun Busters garment?
To best care for your Sun Busters garment, always rinse it in cold clean water immediately after use. When washing please use a gentle machine wash in cold water. Do not bleach, dry clean, tumble dry or iron. All merchandise has care labels and/or washing instructions attached. Please refer to the washing instructions included with each product.
Do different colors offer different levels of sun protection?
All of the great colors offered as part of the Sun Busters collection offer the same high level of UPF 50+ which blocks out 99% of all harmful UV rays.
My child is bigger than average, should I go up size?
Our Sun Busters collection generally fits true to size. However, if you know that your child is bigger than average then definitely go up 1 or 2 sizes. Kids always grow!
What is the size range that you offer in your Sun Busters collection?
We design and manufacture sun protective swimwear, hats, cover-ups and beach shoes for kids aged 3 months to 12 years in various stylish styles and colors.
How do I best remove sand from my Sun Busters garment?
As the fabric we use is a very tight weave, sand can easily get trapped. This technical knit allows for not only sun protection, but also four-way stretch, quick-drying and breathability for ultimate comfort. To remove the sand, we suggest you rinse out the garment in cold clean water, let it dry in the shade, and once the garment is dry then gently stretch the fabric and flick the sand out with your fingers.
How does Sun Busters differ from other brands on the market?
Our Sun Busters collection of sun protective swimwear, hats, cover-ups and shoes provide a ultra-violet protective (UPF) factor of 50+, wet or dry, which blocks over 98% of UV rays. We are the only swimwear children’s collection that carries the prestigious Seal of Recommendation from the Skin Cancer Foundation. We do extensive testing in Australia to ensure that our products provide the best sun protection available in the marketplace. Our products are made from fabrics specially woven without the use of chemical additives and are LONGER-LASTING as they have a strong resistance to chlorine and salt water.
Are rash guards meant to be fitted close to the body for extra protection?
Depending on your child’s preferences, rash guards can be worn fitted or slightly lose, as long as they are not too tight and stretched across the body.
Can Sun Busters hats and aqua shoes be worn in water?
Yes! Sun Busters bucket hats, flap hats and aqua shoes are great for water play and dry play; they are quick drying and provide all the great protection other Sun Busters products have to offer.
Do Sun Busters board shorts also provide UV protection?
Yes! Sun Busters board shorts provide an ultra-violet protective (UPF) factor of 50+, wet or dry, which blocks over 98% of UV rays and like all our products, our boards shorts carry the prestigious Seal of Recommendation from the Skin Cancer Foundation.
Do my children need to wear sunscreen as well as their Sun Busters products for extra protection?
Yes! It is important to apply sunscreen to any body part that is not covered by your sun protective garment and you should reapply every 2 hours or after swimming for maximum protection.
